Recent updates to regulatory requirements means we’ve made online spending more secure for your child by introducing an extra verification step when your child uses their Rooster Card for online purchases! Make sure your family is updated to app v9.1.0 to continue using online purchases as normal.
What’s new?
When using the Rooster Card online, you and your child may be prompted to open the Rooster Money app to confirm that they are the one making the transaction. If you have push notifications enabled you’ll be informed when a transaction needs to be approved. Find out how to enable notifications for you and your child here.
When opening the app, a summary of the purchase being made is shown with the option to approve or reject the purchase. Once you or your child has approved the purchase, their transaction will go through as normal.
Ensure your child can continue using their Rooster Card online 💳
From 14th March, the majority of online purchases will need to be verified in the app. You and your child will need to download the latest version of the Rooster Money app (v9.1.0), to be able to verify online purchases.
Why have we made these changes? 🏦
Due to European Regulations (PSD II) and FCA requirements, online transactions are becoming more secure. Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) is now required ahead of authorising an online purchase to further reduce the risk of fraud.
